To some, the ever so slight rise in temperature and marginally longer days mean that spring is just around the corner, however to a Surrey-based live wedding band like ourselves, it means one thing and one thing only… IT’S WEDDING SEASON!
To help us get back into full swing this season, we were lucky enough to have two fantastic weddings back to back. The first event was the wedding of Harri and James O’Sullivan, held at Painshill Conservatory which is set inside the beautiful walled gardens of Painshill Park in Cobham, Surrey.
The night’s festivities started with a bang as the couple had their first dance to ‘Hooked on a Feeling’ by Blue Swede, which by the end of the song had the entire room on the dance floor, and perfectly set up the entire first set for lots more dancing. The second set saw ‘Proud Mary’ by Tina Turner letting everyone know… “oh it’s on!” After an hour of our newer party songs the night was unfortunately drawing to a close, and so with the bride and groom within a circle of their nearest and dearest, we ended the night with our energetic version of ‘Don’t Stop me Now’ by Queen.
The second stop of the week was the luxurious golf course and spa hotel, Old Thorns in Liphook, Hampshire for the wedding of Andy and Clarissa Friend. The evening began with us having the honour of playing our version of ‘Just the Way You Are’ by Bruno Mars live for the couple’s first dance as man and wife. From the tender start of the evening, things quickly moved into three full sets of energetic classics, largely chosen by the bride and groom themselves. At the end of this magical event we finished in the style we started with; a slower and more emotional number, ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams. Little did we know how truly emotional this was. As we began the song the wedding party gave a toast to a close relative who had sadly passed before the wedding. As a band, we can’t express how special this moment was for us, seeing the entire room arm in arm singing along, and how thankful we are to have been a part of it.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank both of these amazingly happy couples for having us at your special day, and on behalf of all of us at JukeBox, I would like to wish you the very best of luck with the future.
Well ladies and gentlemen, we are back! And we are ready to rock this coming wedding season. We cannot wait to see you all at the weddings, parties and corporate events of the future, and we’re so excited to make your night the best it can be.
